Tools are divided into two main groups – 36mm-long tools (1.42”) for surface work (milling bits and endmills), and 38-mm-long bits (1.5”) that are intended to work through the material, such as contour routers, and drill bits.
Tools for machining surfaces:
LPKF supplies tungsten carbide tools for machining the surfaces of different materials - with an overall length of 36 mm and a shank of 3.175 mm (1/8”).
For engraving insulations of 0.2 - 0.5 mm
For engraving insulations of 0.1 - 0.15 mm (high-speed motor required)
For outlines of HF structures (small penetration depth into the substrate, straight side walls, high-speed motor required); Diameter: 0.15 mm, 0.25 mm, 0.4 mm
For engraving aluminium front panels and for engraving wide insulation gaps. Diameter: 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm
For drilling and milling out, LPKF supplies penetrating tools with an overall length of 38 mm and shafts of 3.175 mm (1/8”).
•Contour Routing Cutter
To drill various materials, in particular PCB base materials. Diameter: 0.15 mm - 2.4 mm (starting from 0.2 mm in 0.1mm steps) hole diameters > 2.4 mm are manufactured automatically with a 2.0mm routing cutter.
